This high-performance plastic has a continuous operating temperature range of approximately -40°C to 260°C. It has an extraordinary combination of very high stiffness, hardness, tensile and flexural strength (high toughness and fatigue strength), high heat resistance deflection temperature and excellent resistance to disinfectants and cleaning agents. The hydrolytic stability is particularly high and can therefore be sterilized repeatedly in steam without any problems. PEEK is self-extinguishing according to UL94 specification. The raw materials used meet the requirements of FDA and EU 10/2011 for food contact materials.
